At the end of the day we arrive at Lake Naivasha Country Club for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 – Masai Mara National Reserve

Early morning we depart after breakfast for a long drive to the Masai Mara. This game reserve is known for the Big Five (leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo) but even more so for the annual migration of the wildebeest. The Mara is part of the Serengeti plains which lies for the biggest part in Tanzania. After checking into your hotel there and a late lunch we go on a game drive in the Mara. End the day with dinner and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

Day 5 – Masai Mara National Reserve

At the crack of dawn it is time to quickly dress, grab a cup of coffee and go for a game drive. The early morning hours are the best for spotting a kill since it is still cool. You also might see a  wonderful sunrise. After about 2 hours you will return to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy some time to unwind at the lodge as we use the rest of the afternoon for more game drives. If you wish you can also stay at the lodge for some relaxing.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Isebanya Border

Your stay in Kenya has nearly come to an end. After an early breakfast we will drive to the Isebanya border between Kenya and Tanzania where we arrive just before lunch. Here you will say goodbye to your Kenyan driver/guide, cross the border and meet with your new Tanzanian driver/guide. Head for Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive. At the end of the afternoon we arrive at Kenzan Luxury Camp for overnight. Here you are in the heart of the wilderness where you can experience the real “Out of Africa” feeling.

Day 7 – Serengeti National Park

Full day of game drives on the endless plains of the Serengeti. Discover why this is one of the best places in Africa to go on safari. Flat-topped acacia trees and rivers dot the savannah. The abundance and variety of wildlife in this beautiful park is unsurpassed. It is the best place to witness the Big Five (rhino, elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion) and the largest overland migration of wildlife on earth. If you want to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, you need to be in the right area at the right time. Depending on what time (season) you choose to go on safari, your guide knows where to go in the Serengeti. At the end of the day you return to Kenzan Luxury Camp for a “sundowner” and overnight.

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

We leave the camp early in the morning and set off for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. If you stand on the rim and look below, the majesty of nature lays out before you. The burst of colours is mind-blowing: a large blue lake with pink flamingos, yellow acacias, dense green jungle, fluffy white clouds in a sky that changes from blue, to pink, to orange. This spectacular arena is home to the Big Five and the densest population predators found anywhere in Africa. Leopards, lions, hyenas and jackals can be found on the crater floor as well as elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, ostriches and rhinos. At the end of the afternoon we leave the crater and drive to the nearby village Karatu for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House.

Day 9: Karatu – Mto wa Mbu

In 1 hour we drive in the morning to the lively village Mto wa Mbu. This small village lies at the foot of the Rift Valley and is a colourful mix of 120 African tribes. We can stop here for a break to watch the daily life of the villagers or visit the local market. We continue to visit an Maasai boma (Maasai village) located on a hill in Esilalei where you can learn about the lifestyle and rituals of this colorful tribe. In the afternoon we proceed to Maramboi Tented Camp, situated on the shores of Lake Manyara. If you are lucky, while relaxing on the swimming pool deck, zebras and giraffes will come close to meet and greet.

Day 10: Tarangire National Park – Arusha

Enjoy a full day game driving in elephant and bird paradise Tarangire. The landscape is incredible diverse and giant baobab trees scatter the park. Tarangire still has an authentic rawness and is as ‘wild’ as it gets in the northern circuit. The lively Silale swamp is one of the highlands of Tarangire. Here you can see the largest selections of breeding birds anywhere in the world, including orange-bellied parrots, lovebirds and the largest flying bird, the Kori Bustard.
