You want to go on safari and experience the world’s most amazing wildlife and nature without sacrificing any comfort? This 8-days safari takes you to the four best parks in northern Tanzania while staying in luxury safari loges and camps, whose stunning locations are second to none. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature in elephant and bird paradise Tarangire, witness the world’s largest overland migration of mammals in the Serengeti and spot black rhinos on the pastel-coloured crater floor of the Ngorongoro.
Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, your driver will meet you at the exit of the arrivals area, to transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. Settle into Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge, amid tropical gardens and forest, at the slopes of Mount Meru. Relax and enjoy dinner, before your safari starts in the morning.
Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
This morning we drive in about 1.5 hours to one of the smaller national parks, Lake Manyara. This park is not dominated by savannah, but by an enormous soda lake with huge flocks of flamingos. You can spot hundreds of olive baboons, elephants, hippos and if you are lucky Manyara’s tree climbing lions. It is also a perfect place to see the spectacular 400 meter high Rift Valley Escarpment. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, where you can overlook Lake Manyara from the lovely infinity pool.
Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast we drive to Africa’s most famous national park, Serengeti. Flat-topped acacia trees and rivers dot the landscape. We head to the central area of the park, called Seronera. Due to its unique ecosystem, Seronera supports a much greater diversity of wildlife than anywhere else in the Serengeti. The large amount of prey also draws the highest population of predators. It is one of the best places in Africa to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. You can see elephants, zebras, giraffes and many other species on any given day. We arrive in time for a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in this area of Serengeti National Park. Afterward we drive to the luxurious Four Season Safari Lodge. Enjoy the infinity pool overlooking a wildlife waterhole.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Explore the Serengeti today during morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife viewing in the Serengeti is good throughout the year, but if you want to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, you need to be in the right area at the right time. Depending on what time (season) you go on safari, your guide knows where to go in the Serengeti. Watching an endless stream of millions of wildebeest and zebra thundering the vast plains of the Serengeti in search of fresh water and grass, is absolutely mesmerising. Return to the Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the afternoon where you can enjoy the pool, spa services, fitness centre, kids club and delicious food.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
On this last day of your stay in Serengeti National Park, we will set out to another part of the Serengeti. This park is immense and spans roughly 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq. mi), so there is so much to explore on a game drive. The flora and fauna have remained almost unchanged over the past hundreds of centuries. The Big Five and all three African big cats are abundant, but also several very rare species like the black rhino, pangolin, black-and-white colobus monkey, Oryx and wild dog. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of the world’s most famous park. In the afternoon we leave Serengeti and drive to your Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, set on the crater rim overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
Explore one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders today on a full day game viewing. This collapsed volcano is home to all of Africa’s famous wildlife and has its own unique ecosystem. The view from the rim into the crater floor is simply unreal with its pastel-coloured landscape and wildlife roaming the floor. Animals spotting is easy in this largely flat and open crater floor. Leopards, lions, hyenas and jackals can be found on the savannah as well as elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, ostriches and rhinos. Lunch will be served at a lovely lakeshore in the crater. At the end of the afternoon we leave the crater and return to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. This lodge has a rim-flow swimming pool, Spa, game room and many more facilities.
Day 7: Tarangire National Park
Early morning we drive to Tarangire to enjoy a full day game driving in this elephant and bird paradise. The landscape is incredible diverse and giant baobab trees scatter the park. Tarangire still has an authentic rawness and is as ‘wild’ as it gets in the northern circuit. The lively Silale Swamp is one of the highlights of Tarangire. Here you can see the largest selections of breeding birds anywhere in the world, including orange-bellied parrots, lovebirds and the largest flying bird, the Kori Bustard. The swamps is also the place to see lots of leopards and lions. Return to the lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy your last evening on safari. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge which lies among the ancient baobab trees and grassland of the national park.
Day 8: Tarangire – Arusha
After a memorable 7-days journey your safari adventure has come to an end. In the morning we drive back to Arusha and bring you to Kilimanjaro Airport for you flight home.
